One of the biggest problems with drilling CFP-titanium stacks is the rapid wear on the drill bit and the time and cost for switching tools. The Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart has developed a counter-drilling procedure for creating rivet holes. Through selective tool design, the material processing was made significantly easier and the lifetime of the tool was increased. More Information
